Trouble Getting Your Security Deposit Back from Morgan Properties?
Freedom Person, an independent human rights platform, in partnership with ProfitDwelling.com, is collecting reports from tenants who have experienced unjustified security deposit deductions or lack of transparency after moving out of apartments managed by Morgan Properties.
Recent complaints include:
-
Large deductions with unclear or no explanation
-
Ignored written requests for itemized charges
-
No clear appeal process or response from management
We are currently investigating one such case involving a former resident of Kenton Place Apartments (Cornelius, NC). Despite a formal request submitted on July 17, 2025, Morgan Properties has not provided any substantive explanation regarding the charges in question, citing confidentiality.
First in the series: When a Morgan Properties Manager Keith Varney Decides the Law Is Optional
This article focuses specifically on additional rent days billed after the tenant returned the keys and vacated the unit, confirmed in writing by property manager Keith Varney.
Next in the series: how Kenton Place management replaced a kitchen stove with an old used one, then billed the tenant $185 for restoring its glass surface; how nearly $1,000 was charged for cleaning and sanding a countertop; and how natural wear-and-tear on blinds became yet another revenue source.
